Child & Adolescents Clinical Psychologist – Bilingual - Arabic & English

    Minimum Qualification, Desired Experience & Skills:

  • HAAD/DHA /MOH Valid License
  • D.Clin. Psy./Psy.D or PhD in Clinical Psychology with practicum experience (preferable) or Masters in Clinical Psychology with practicum experience (mandatory)
  • At least 2 years post qualification experience working as psychologist in multidisciplinary psychiatric setting or in child development service.
  • Experience of psychometric assessment of a range of developmental disorders (mandatory)
  • Bilingual Arabic/English (preferable)

  • Summary of Essential Functions:

  • Assessment of children’s needs, abilities and behavior using a variety of methods, including psychometric tests, interviews with child and parents and direct observation of behavior.
  • Carrying out school observations and liaison as appropriate, including supporting teaching staff with the management of challenging behavior.
  • Provision of timely and comprehensive psychological reports, including a treatment plan.
  • Working as part of multidisciplinary team alongside psychiatrists, neurologists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and physiotherapists.
  • Devising and monitoring appropriate programs of treatment in collaboration with colleagues and parents as appropriate.
  • Provision of advice and support to parents in responding to their children’s difficulties.
  • Offering therapy for difficulties’ relating to anxiety, social and interpersonal problems, challenging behavior and, increasingly, a range of more complex problems including eating disorders and depression; work may include a focus on either child mental health or on working with developmental disorders or a combination of both.
