Salwa Zaky Hanna is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas, USA and is also a Board Approved Counseling Supervisor. Salwa is pursuing her License from the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) as Senior Public Health Officer / Psychology Counselor.
Selwa received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. She worked previously in Richmond State School for Mental Health/Mental Retardation as well as Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. She is an Instructor/Parent Trainer in Infant Massage with an emphasis on the caregiver-child relationship. She also worked at Early Childhood Intervention as a parent counselor, psychological consultant, and a supervisor of Developmental Intervention Specialists. Her areas of training include Stress Management, Grief Resolution, Parenting Skills Training, Sibling Relations, and Life Style Modification. She is also credentialed as an Infant Mental Health Specialist working with parents and children from birth to five years in bonding and attachment relationships.
Salwa is American and is fluent in both Arabic and English. She is also competent in both the Middle Eastern and American cultures. She worked as a Dentist in Egypt before moving to the United States. Currently, she lives in Abu Dhabi with her husband. Her two adult children work and reside in the USA. Selwa also works as a volunteer at SKMC in Abu Dhabi.
