
Sue Partridge qualified as a clinical psychologist in the UK in 1983 and remains a licensed practitioner psychologist with the Health Professions Council under her maiden name of Clement. She obtained her Masters degree in Psychopathology from the University of Leicester and holds the British Psychological Society Diploma in Clinical Psychology.
She has worked in the UK, mainly in the NHS, at the grade of Consultant Clinical Psychologist since 1994. Prior to moving to Abu Dhabi in 2010 she was the Clinical Director of the clinical psychology doctoral training programme, and a Senior Lecturer, at Hull University. She has extensive experience of working with adults with addiction problems, anxiety disorders (including panic disorder, social phobia, OCD and PTSD), depression, personality disorder and psychosis both in out-patient and in-patient settings. She works with both individuals and couples who are experiencing relationship difficulties. She uses a variety of models to inform her practice which is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
In addition to her therapeutic work Sue carries out individualized neuro-psychological assessments to identify patterns of cognitive strengths and deficits for people with acquired brain injury and a range of other conditions.
She is an experienced trainer and lecturer and has a number of peer reviewed publications.
Her clinical work has taught her that change is always possible, that hope is one of the most important elements of recovery and that collaborative working is essential.
