Ana Gómez Arinero is a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist relocated from Spain to Dubai in 2018. Her current interests and studies are focused on Clinical and Environmental Psychology, specifically in the prevention and treatment of mental health disorders in the interactions between individuals, society and environment, to enhance well-being and social performance.
She holds a MSc in Forensic Psychology from Universidad Complutense of Madrid (UCM) and two MSc in Clinical Psychology from the European Institute of Time Limited Psychotherapies and from Universidad of León. She completed her BSc (Hons) in Psychology at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, in Spain, in 2014. Prior to developing her passion for Mental Health, she concluded her Master’s Degree in Economics and pursued her PhD in International Economy at the UCM, having worked for international financial institutions and middle size enterprises in business development for over 10 years.
Mrs. Arinero worked for The Psychology Center at the Carbone Clinic in DHCC prior to joining ACPN in 2019. She is a Lecturer in Abnormal Psychology at the Canadian University in Dubai. In Spain she practiced privately in Madrid as associate of the European Institute of Time Limited Psychotherapies. Her practice in Forensic Psychology was at First Instance Court of Majadahonda; Forensic Medical Clinic at Plaza Castilla (Madrid) and at the Penitentiary Center Madrid III- Valdemoro from 2015 to 2017. She conducted CBT programs for convicts through the Spanish General Secretariat of Penitentiary Institutions. While pursuing her BSc in Psychology, she worked at the inpatient residential facility of Hermanas Hospitalarias in Madrid with patients suffering from severe and persistent mental health illnesses, and at the Community Social Services of Rivas Vaciamadrid, delivering treatment to adolescents, women and families. She worked for the Spanish National Security Bodies as part of the Program to updated risk-assessment protocols to avoid crime against women.
Mrs. Arinero is licensed by DHCA and DHA in Dubai and she is chartered member of the Madrid Collegial Body of Psychologists (COPM), Associate of the European Institute of Time-Limited Psychotherapies, Member of the Middle East Psychological Association (MEPA), of the Middle East Eating Disorders Association (MEEDA) and of the Arabian Child and Adolescents Mental Health Association.
Mrs. Arinero works with adolescents and adults charting a path of mental health recovery and of personal growth. She stands out for an integrated understanding of the person, where physiological and psychological aspects are considered and involved in the recovery process aligned with environmental and cultural factors, working with interdisciplinary medical teams. Having been trained in evidence-based psychotherapies, she is as well specialized in CBT-ED for the treatment of Eating Disorders.
