Dr. Elio Sassine is Specialist Psychiatrist at ACPN. Completing his medical studies at St. Joseph University, Lebanon in 1990, he went on to specialize in adult and child psychiatry at Claude Bernard University, France in 1994. He is a licensed psychiatrist in Dubai, UAE, and Lebanon.
Dr. Sassine has been in private practice in psychiatry for over two decades working with all age groups in Lebanon. Apart from his private practice, he practices at Bikhazi Medical Group, Abou-Jaoudé Hospital, and was head of the psychiatry unit at Hammoud Hospital before moving Dubai on a part-time basis in 2022. He follows an integrative approach to disorder diagnosis and treatments that combines proper biological and pharmacological therapies with emphatic psychological support. Dr. Sassine lectures at St. Joseph University and presents at several local and international congresses. Dr. Sassine co-founded APEG in 1996, an NGO that offers psychiatric treatment and support to war trauma children in Southern Lebanon and runs free-of-charge mental health clinics. APEG received the highest Human Rights French Republic Award in 2008. Dr. Sassine is also a founding member of Alzheimer’s Lebanon. He has made several broadcast appearances on television including CNN, BBC, TV5 Monde, RFI.
Gaining deep insights and expertise through twenty-six years of psychiatric experience, Dr. Sassine is skilled at treating mood and anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, schizophrenia, PTSD, and sexual disorders.
