Dr. Hiba Mohammed is a Pediatric Neurologist and Consultant Pediatrician at ACPN. She completed her MBBS and clinical MD in Pediatrics from the University of Khartoum. Dr. Hiba went on to becoming a subspecialist in pediatric neurology from Cape Town, South Africa. She holds an MPhil degree in Pediatrics Neurology from the University of Stellenbosch, earned with distinction. Additionally, she is a member of The Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health, UK, and holds subspecialist membership in neurology from the Royal College of Physicians, UK. With dual medical licenses in Pediatrics and Pediatrics Neurology from DOH, DHA, and MOH in the UAE, Dr. Hiba is also fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC, UK), HPCSA (South Africa), and MOH (KSA), in addition to her home country, Sudan.
Dr. Hiba’s career spans more than ten years, during which she served in major tertiary and quaternary governmental hospitals in the UAE, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan. Prior to transitioning to the private sector, she worked at Mafraq Hospital in the Pediatric Neurology department for six years. Dr. Hiba has been actively involved in teaching roles, serving as a Clinical Instructor and Coordinator at the Gulf Medical College, Ajman, and Stellenbosch Universities. Her experience includes establishing Pediatric Neurology departments at Al Noor and Ahalia Hospitals in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Hiba has an in-depth understanding of childhood epilepsies, neuro-metabolic disorders, pediatric headaches and migraines, neuromuscular disorders, and developmental pediatrics such as ADHD, autism, and developmental delay work-up. Her special interest lies in epilepsies and neuro-genetics, with a focus on Cerebral Palsy genetics. Dr. Hiba specializes in the treatment of spasticity in cerebral palsy using Botox injections. She is experienced in various neurology procedures, including Brain Stem Evoked Potentials (ABR, VEP), pediatric EEG interpretation, pediatric NCS, and needle EMG, among various others. Serving in various capacities, Dr. Hiba is dedicated to leading pediatric care and children’s health in the region and to helping improve awareness and knowledge of neurological and developmental needs in children. She is an advocate for early intervention in helping children realize their best possible outcomes.
