Dr. Khaled Hassan is a Clinical Psychologist coming to ACPN from the Psychiatry Unit in IAU (formerly Dammam University Hospital), KSA where he worked as Clinical Psychologist. He earned his PhD in Counseling and Psychotherapy from the University of Assiut, Egypt in 2011. In addition to his PhD degree, he also holds an MSc in Counseling Psychology from Minia University, Egypt in 2002. He holds his licensure in Egypt from the year 2000 and with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties since 2007.
Dr. Hassan has extensive experience of more than fifteen years in clinical fieldwork. His involvement in clinical research of more than four years led to several publications in prominent Arab scientific journals in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, and psychotherapy. He began his career in Egypt as Clinical Psychologist working at Shifa Specialized Hospital in Cairo, Egypt in 1996. Upon moving to KSA in 2005, he worked for four years as Clinical Psychologist at Al Ahsa Mental Health Hospital, Hofuf. He was also appointed as Senior Supervisor of Psychological Education in Public Schools in Al Minia, Egypt from 2008-2010. He worked at the Psychiatry Department at Imam AbdulRahman Bin Faisal University from 2012 before joining ACPN in 2020.
Dr. Hassan works with adults suffering from various mental health issues including anxiety disorders (obsession, phobia, social anxiety, panic attacks, generalized anxiety), sleep disorders, depression, mood disorders, and eating disorders. He also works with children and adolescents with autism, ADHD, conduct disorder, intellectual disability, and childhood & adolescent presentations of anxiety and depression. He conducts assessments using psychometric testing and clinical interviewing and carries out psychological treatments primarily using Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
