Dr. Raoom Qureshi has joined the ACPN from North West Boroughs Healthcare in the UK. Her career in psychology in the UK spans over 5 years. She is a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). She earned her Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from the University of Manchester in 2016, a Psychology of Criminal Profiling Diploma from NCC Home Learning in 2013, a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology from the University of Central Lancashire in 2011, and a Counseling and Psychotherapy Diploma from UK Open Learning in 2010. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Staffordshire University.
Dr. Raoom has extensive experience working with adults that have complex and high-risk mental health issues. She specializes in treating adult clients for various acute mental health problems, including personality disorders, schizophrenia, depression, trauma, abuse, psychosis, suicidal ideation, anxiety, self-harm, etc. Moreover, she provides behavioral assessments, action plans and treatments for high-risk patients. When working with patients, she employs a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with an integrative approach, whereby elements of psychodynamic, person-centered therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) are used in conjunction with one another.
