Dr. Maie Medhat Ramzy

Dr. Mai Medhat Ramzy is a Clinical Psychologist at ACPN Abu Dhabi with over 22 years of experience in the fields of psychology and psychotherapy. She has worked extensively across both government and private sectors in Egypt, Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, providing culturally informed and evidence-based mental health care. Dr. Ramzy is licensed to practice in the UAE and brings an extensive background in evidence-based therapies.

Dr. Mai holds a PhD. in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Her clinical expertise spans a wide range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), with applications for children, adolescents, and adults.

She began her career at the Ministry of Health in Egypt’s mental health and addiction hospitals, supporting patients with a range of psychiatric and behavioral conditions. She went on to serve as Director of acenterfor people with special needs in Qatar in 2015, leading multiple therapeutic programs and awareness initiatives. Her journey continued in Bahrain from 2016, where she served as Head of the Clinical Psychology Department at Psychiatric Hospital. Her work in Bahrain spanned a range of settings, including community centers, psychiatry clinics, hospitals, and national institutions such as the Supreme Council for Women, before she moved to Abu Dhabi in 2024 to join the Department of Community Development (DCD).

In addition to her clinical work, she has been involved in professional training, supervision, and program development, contributing to the advancement of mental health services across the Middle East.

She has participated in numerous international conferences as a speaker, presenting lectures and conducting workshops on a wide range of psychotherapy approaches and mental health service delivery.
